April may bring showers to some but for Peoria Chapter, it brings a celebration!
PEORIA CHAPTER TURNS 40! On Monday, April 21st, Peoria Chapter will be celebrating it's 40th Birthday! Traditionally, the gift for a 40th anniversary is the ruby or garnet. Either way, that is red which relates to Electa which means Love! So come join in the fun and share the love! And some Birthday cake.
The meeting, as always, starts at 7:30 pm. But that's not all that's happening in April. On Tuesday, April 1st (and this is no April Fool's joke), Sun City Chapter #66 will be honoring Peoria Chapter (it's Mother Chapter) at Sun City Lodge, 107th Avenue, North of Union Hills. The meeting starts at 7:30 so join us as we check out our "children". Then, on Saturday, April 5th, from 7:00 to 9:00 am, Peoria Chapter will be holding a Pancake Breakfast just before the start of the Peoria Pioneer Days Parade. Five dollars buys you a "down-home cooking" type breakfast and you can stick around and enjoy the parade. SUCH a deal! Monday, April 7th, we'll be honoring our District Instructor, Marsha Young (also our Conductress). This meeting was postponed from March due to a death in Marsha's family and we extend our sympathy and prayers and are very glad she is back with us. Next up? SUMMER!

“Love is in the Air” in this month of the Heart and “The Gift of Christmas” is still with us.
Peoria Chapter will be sowing the seeds of love through-out the month as we celebrate Friends at our Friendship Night on Monday, February 4th. We're having a Pot Luck Dinner before the meeting and all Members and Friends are welcome. Please contact Associate Matron, Leian Faulkner at n2iojd_az@yahoo.com or 480-563-3097, to let her know what you are bringing and if you have any questions. We're asking our Members to please be generous because we anticipate LOTS for Friends will be joining us that evening.
At our meeting on Monday, February 18th, we will be Honoring our Past Matrons and Past Patrons – those who, through the years, started this Chapter, kept it going and brought it to what it is today. Please join us as we pay tribute to the folks who are the backbone of our Chapter.
During the month, we will also be spreading our love to neighboring states as we have fun at the Tri-Line Event during the weekend of February 8th. We'll be in Laughlin, Nevada along with OES Members from California and Nevada and will be having a GREAT time.
As always, enjoy living the gift of Christmas all year through (makes people wonder what you are up to) and know there are only 10 more months until Christmas.

Sister Judy Kitteringham, Past Grand Lecturer, is scheduled for hip replacement surgery at Boswell Hospital on Monday. She will be going into Boswell sometime tomorrow.
Sister Sue Peterson, Grand Conductress, is in Del Webb Hospital now as a result of a pre-surgery examination done yesterday. Sue was already scheduled for foot surgery later this week; however, this situation has to do with diverticulitis and possible bowel surgery.
