Today let us love one another.
Let us not suspect the motives of those who are trying to make our burden lighter.
In Pearl of Venus #6 are gathered the traditions of three chapters. Often an illness or a death is not known to us in time to express our care.
Yesterday Christine Rothery read Resolutions of Respect for Bill Bloomquist, P.P. in 82,84, 86,88,89, who died Jan 12th, 08. Both she and Donna Cook write beautiful thoughts of the deceased, but we don't need any more for a while.
Also listed as ill were PGM Mary Alice Tait Prentice, Katherine Macnab, Dixie Kanzeg, Eleanor Vlahovich, Roberta Weber, Ann Marie Stetzel, and our Kunie Kummer, who was present with a bandaged face.
PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW YOU ARE! Let us pray for each other.
Changes in some of the directories you received:

Ada Fay Frost Munie,PM 75 & 78 died Oct. 21,07

Shirley Stevens died Nov.9, 07

As we approach our 4th year anniversary we look at our active member list and marvel. All 18 of our officers took part in our recent official visit (if you missed it, it was a super one.) 16 officers were present at our friendship/birthday party meeting on November 20th. The nice courtesy items were donated and/or created by our officers or members and their families.
Again, we thank our brothers of King Solomon lodge #5 and Perfect Ashlar Lodge #12 who maintain our two chapter homes and those wonderful chair lifts so needed by many of our members. Both lodges have arranged occasions for us to get together where we, of course, look for new members.
We appreciate our sister chapters Electa #51 and Silver Star #53 and thank them for their attendance at our meetings.
This year's Grand Officers have been invaluable with their direction and advice, especially our own District Instructor Sister Ople Sarich.
We are indebted to all these people, and to our members who live out of the area and still send donations toward our many causes.
Last Year we gave the following Charities through Grand Chapter:
ESTARL $75.00, Renaissance House $100.00, Heart fund $50.00, Cancer Fund $50.00, Diabetes Fund $50.00, Scholarships $350.00,
Locally we gave to the following Charities:
Cancer Walk $50.00, Cancer Support $25.00, 3 Graduation Safe Parties @ $100.00 each, Request to a local church $25.00, Best Improved Eight Graders $200.00, Local Scholarship $100.00, 3 Local food banks @ $100.00 each, 165 collected stuffed critters donated to local Law Enforcement and Fire Dept. agencies for crisis.
So far this year we donated $100.00 to the account of local Leukemia patient Isiah Martinez and $93.00 to the Worthy Grand Matron's Project, The Ronald McDonald House. We have donated Sweat pants and tops to the Copper Queen Emergency Room Clothes Closet and fuzzy bears with hand made blankets to the hospital for Grand Matron's Project' Andrea's Closet' so each sick child will take home something of their own.
This year the Worthy Grand Matron gave a special award ''The Brass Ring" to one outstanding member of each chapter. Who won in our chapter you ask ???? Well, the ''Typo-Specialist'' says a big Thank You.
We are a family who work together, who can trust each other. We work through acts of kindness to make this world a brighter place. Our leaders give much of themselves to bring smiles and kindness to our meetings. If you have not developed the habit of coming to the meetings with us ..... make it your New Year's Resolution ... We'd really love to see you. Try Bisbee Feb. 5th and be our Valentine and Tombstone of Feb 19th for the Presidents Day.
Star Love,
Fraternally,
Mary Jackson, W.M. Paul Jackson, W.P.

Welcome anytime to Pearl of Venus #6, meeting the first Tuesday at Bisbee, the third Tuesday at Tombstone, 2:00 PM.
Fellowship is enjoyed each time with a shared lunch at 1 :00 PM.
The halls are alive with the sound of music. The only admonition is that our Worthy Matron and Organist, newly appointed Grand Representatives of Saskatchewan and Kansas, respectively must not be absent at the same time.
The only sour notes we have at this time is that two of our dear members: Loralee Brown, 11/22/07 and Ada Fay Frost-Munie, PM(75 & 78), 11/21/07 are lost to us out through death.

Parking in Bisbee for our OV on Tuesday will be the same as last year. You can either just look for a parking space or drop off your passengers at the hall and drive about 3 blocks past the hall to the Catholic Church parking lot. There will be a shuttle running all afternoon to take people to and from their cars. Thanks!
Star Love,
Mary Jackson Worthy Matron

We continue to welcome all to our daytime meetings. On December 4 we will have our customary Potluck Luncheon in Bisbee at 12 Noon and our meeting afterwards at 2:00 PM.
December 18 we will enjoy an order off the menu luncheon at the Longhorn Cafe in Tombstone at High Noon, our Christmas Meeting will follow at 2:00 PM.
We will be Dark on January 1, 2008
We are busy making special plans for our upcoming Official Visit to be held on January 15 in Bisbee. The Theme is western and we will serve a complimentary luncheon of our usual great vittles at noon. The Official Visit will begin at 2:00 PM. SO, get out your finest western duds and mosey on down to share the afternoon in Bisbee with us.
Now we want to brag a little. Our Worthy Matron, Sister Mary Jackson, PM, spent a week in California at the Envisioning a Bright Future Session of their Grand Chapter. Worthy Grand Matron Karen Fletcher and Worthy Grand Patron "Skip" Skipworth did a suburb job and were thrilled by the over 1200 in attendance. The week was very busy for our Sister as she once again (along with her sister Nellis Johnson, PM, who served as Grand Organist in 2002 in California) served as an Assistant Grand Organist in this, her second membership State. On Thursday evening, at the Informal Opening, Mary and her sister Nellis totally rocked a full house with their rendition of "Sisters". They compared California OES to Arizona OES in the campy style that only Nellis and Mary could pull off and even our own brother Casey Cosby, PGP, was seen standing in the isles cheering. While our Sister Mary may belong in both States, I hear it was obvious, during the song, where her true loyalty lies. We are sure lucky to have her here in Arizona at Pearl of Venus Chapter #6. You Go Girl!!
We are also busting our buttons with pride over our District Instructor Ople Sorich, PM, who gathered 19 members representing Silver Star #53, Electa #51 and Pearl of Venus #6 all her charges in District #3 to conduct her School ofInstruction. It was very informative and we sure appreciate her time and effort.
We have three new members so far this year one by affiliation and two dual members.
It is with sadness that we share the names of three members who have passed away: Florence (Cowan) Snure on May 15th; Marjorie Bruner on October 1th; and Shirley Stevens on November 9th.
We are looking forward to celebrating our 50-year members by awarding them their pins: Sisters Lois McRoberts, PM; Louise Thompson, PM; and Corinne Smith all in December 2007.
We hope to see you all at our Official Visit. Until then, Happy Trails to you!
