The Officers and Members of Liberty Chapter #23, Holbrook, would like to extend a warm Happy New Year greeting to all! May your year be blessed with love and kindness.
We were honored with a surprise visit from the Worthy Grand Matron, Imogene Richens and her husband, Wendell at our December 11th, 2007 meeting. They actually had business to conduct because they presented Jill Montoya, PM, with a Commission as Grand Representative of Mississippi in Arizona. Congratulations Jill, you deserve it!
Liberty Chapter #23 assisted Chalcedony Lodge #6 with their Clothe-A-Child Project helping 27 children purchase new clothes. The Chapter also gave each child a bag of school supplies (paper, pens, pencils, crayons, glue etc.) All those that helped are always better for the experience.
Our Crisis Committee donated some personal care items to the local "Bread of Life Mission."
Our Golden Chain was broken on January 7, 2008 by the passing of our Brother Walter "Tuffy" Carpenter.
Memories are forget-me-nots Gathered along life's way, Pressed close to the human heart, In perennial bouquet .

Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow.
The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.
We hope your Thanksgiving was spent with family and friends and that it was a day full of blessings and love. Liberty Chapter #23 had their Official Visit of the Worthy Grand Matron Imogene Richins accompanied by the Worthy Grand Patron Ken Aldrin on Saturday, September 22nd. The meeting was held downstairs in the dining room so that our older members could attend the meeting. Sister Jessie Hillebert was presented with The Brass Ring Award by Worthy Grand Matron Imogene. Sister Nevert Scorse came to attend the fellowship held after the meeting. She has been house-bound for some time, so it was wonderful to have come out for a short while.
The Chapter has decided to enter a tree in the Holbrook "Annual Festival of Trees". Individuals and organizations in the area decorate trees which are then displayed at the Community Center for people to view for two nights, November 30 & December 1. Our tree will be decorated with Stars and Masonic Symbols. Cookies are served to the viewers!
The Chapter will be assisting Chalcedony Lodge #6 F&AM in their Clothe-A-Child Project again this year.
On December 25, the Chapter members will assist the Lodge by escorting the children and their parents to ALCO, a local department store where they will pick out clothing and undergarments that are paid for by the Lodge. The Chapter also builds a bag of school supplies for each student.
It is an Annual Event, one we look forward to each year.
Remember, This December, That love weighs more than gold!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR from all the officers and members of Liberty Chapter 23
