There will be a memorial service for Sister Bea on Saturday March 15th at 12:00 p.m. at the the Lodge at 1028 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ.

Brother James W. Van Duzer passed away Tuesday August 28, 2007. He was a member of Golden Rule#1, in Prescott. He was also a Past Patron of Golden Rule #1 and of Hassayampa #35 in Wickenburg.

Our prayers go out to his family and friends.

We had a great time at Grand Chapter. Many of our members came to show support for our grand officers, Jane Garcia, Grand Treasurer and LaJean Landis, Grand Esther. There were 18 of us in all at various times throughout the sessions.

Congratulations are in order for Sister Jane, who was re-elected Grand Treasurer for the fifth time. We also congratulate Sister Patty Dennis, who is our new District Instructor. She also received a commission as Grand Representative of Nevada in Arizona.

Upcoming events: At our first meeting in September, we will be introducing all our new Grand Chapter appointments. We will also drape the altar in memory of our beloved brother, Past Grand Patron Roy Badger. The second meeting in September will be our Patriotic Night. We will install some officers at the first meeting in October and the official visit of the Worthy Grand Matron, Imogene Richins, accompanied by the Worthy Grand Patron, Ken Aldrin will be Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Sister Rose Bower is in the hospital recovering from a home accident. She was admitted on Thursday night and will probably be there until Monday. I saw her briefly on Friday morning. The therapist was getting her up to go for a walk. She was in good spirits and typical Rose, was laughing about what had happened. We need to keep her in our prayers and if you get a chance drop in to see her for a few minutes.
